On February 23, Tuesday, the last of the team meetings was held. It was called C4 “ECONOMIC IMPLICATIONS OF SAVING ENERGY. THE LANDSCAPE CREATED BY THE FORCES OF NATURE”.
The organizers were our Italian partners and due to the current pandemic situation, this meeting was held online, using Google Meet app. The morning began with the excellent conference of the renewable energy expert Lorenzo Cremonese entitled “The energy transition to mitigate the global climate crisis: some examples” and after following timetable, each partner presented his presentations. It was an intense day but with excellent work and from here we want to congratulate our Italian partners for their organization.

From the second to the eighth of February we traveled to Warsaw. This was the third international meeting of our Erasmus Project. On Sunday evening we had a welcome dinner at a typical Polish restaurant where we met our partners from Greece, Italy, Poland and Czech Republic.
On Monday we visited the school and met all the students and teachers involved in the project who had traveled to Warsaw. The Physics teacher organized a workshop with students about how to produce energy, it was easier to ones than to others, but everybody enjoyed the activity. Meanwhile teachers met to discuss the work done in our project. We had lunch at the school canteen and had free time in the afternoon..
On Tuesday we met at the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, where we listened to a speech about its work and aims; this fund has almost 31 years of experience in financing environmental and energy projects. Later we took part in a city game to know the old town.
We had the chance to know the passive house on Wednesday and listen to the explanation given by its creator. He talked to us about how the house had been designed to save and preserve the energy inside.
Students and teachers spent Thursday at school, where students exposed their presentations about the subject of the project: how do we get energy, environmental impact, power plants, future ways of producing energy… (see Activities Page, Activity C5).

On Friday we had a meeting with a member of the Polish government in the Parliament. He was the Treasury Minister, who was very interested in renewable energy, and discussed it with us. At six we had an early dinner all together, we were given our Erasmus certificates and had the opportunity to say goodbye to all our partners and students who had shared this unforgettable experience. We all left to our countries on Saturday.
Our third meeting took place in
Kavala (Greece). The visit, together with all the activities arranged
by the Greek team, met the expectations we had by far. Besides, we
were lucky to have an incredible weather.

The farewell dinner party in the evening put an end to the Programme. Many felt sorry to leave but we all came back with an spirit of satisfiaction with work well accomplished and great memories from Kavala and our great hosts there.

María Barrero, Alicia Ferrero, José Carlos Gil, Álvaro Gracia, Carla Jiménez, Carlos Matías, Paula Mendoza, Yago Moreno, Lucía Pérez, and Irene Talavera, students participanting in the Erasmus + project, had the opportunity to attend the “City, energy and efficiency” Forum organized by Aupex, Aexcid and the Citizenship Foundation. In the plenary hall of the City Hall, and throughout the morning of October 30, they were able to attend to three very interesting lectures related to consumption and energy efficiency, renewable energy and possible solutions to climate change, by D Cosme Segador (Director of the Extremadura Energy Agency), Ms. Lorena Rodríguez (member of the Regional Council of Environmental Education in Extremadura), and Mr. Abel Periáñez (founder of the E-motion company). For the world environment day our Greek partners have showed a Greek movie called “The clock of disaster” to the students of the first grade and they have had a short discussion, as it was during their final exams.
Last May we organized a film festival about Global Warming. Different groups of Secondary students watched selected films about topics related to the environment: “Wall-E”, “The boy who harnessed the wind” and “Erin Brockovich”.
The films were screened during tutoring hours and in the Ethical Values class. Two groups of 1st year students saw “Wall-E” and “The boy who harnessed the wind” respectively. Groups of 2nd and 4th year saw “The boy who harnessed the wind” and a group of 3rd year saw “Erin Brockovich”.
